About the Incumbent Candidate

I have been a volunteer firefighter for almost 14 years in the Greenfield Fire District. I have considered it a true honor to have served our great community over the past five years as Commissioner, and I humbly ask for your support to continue serving in that capacity.

I have lived in this area my whole adult life and I graduated from Saratoga Springs High School. I later attended Adirondack Community College, before transferring to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) - where I majored in Computer Science. I returned back to RPI graduating with a Master Degree in Computer Science, specializing in Software Engineering.

Goals and Initiatives

I would consider it a great honor to continue to serve our great community as Fire Commissioner. If elected, I pledge to work on the following goals and initiatives - and many others:

ISO Re-Evaluation The fire district's ISO rating ultimately affects home insurance rates. Improvements in the ISO rating, will save our homeowners money - and I want to work to improve the rating.

Improve District Technology On the emergency side, these include automated dispatching systems, and integration of GIS systems. On the organizational side, this includes better records management, and communication.

Maintain Leadership Excellence Continue to solicit feedback to improve the newsletter and website. Continue to keep taxes low and lower our operating costs by addressing maintenance costs and improve inter-municipal purchasing.

Accomplishments

During my first term as Fire Commissioner, I directly championed a variety of initiatives including but not limited to:

Focus on Open Government and Transparency

1. Formed a committee (known as the "Communications Committee") which designed the first district website: greenfieldfd.org
2. Championed the Newsletter Initiative, authoring two newsletters a year.

Prior to these two initiatives, the fire district did not have any methods to provide transparency and open government.

Technology Focus and Injection

1. Internet Technology: all firehouses now have computers and internet access to maintain and keep accurate records. I personally designed networks for each firehouse and oversaw their installation.
2. Security System: district facilities are now protected and access is controlled in an accurate and secure fashion.
